In Actuarial Consulting , our employees advise our clients on the design and financing of their pension funds. This includes, in particular, the actuarial support and development of the pension funds, taking into account the legal and financial framework conditions and the respective customer-specific characteristics.

The role is based in our Zurich office.

What can you expect?

In this role (part-time possible), you will work with colleagues to develop and implement solutions to the challenges faced by leading companies in Switzerland and their pension funds.

This will involve:

  • Developing actuarial applications in Matlab

  • Implementing GUI-design

  • Implementing business logic

  • Implementing actuarial formulas in Matlab code

  • Data analysis and visualization in Matlab

  • Maintenance and refactoring of existing Matlab-code

  • Technical user-support and troubleshooting

  • Maintain and develop a test-suite

  • Version code with versioning software

  • Object-oriented programming approach

  • Writing of robust and reusable code

  • Maintain and develop documentation and user-manuals

What are you bringing?

  • You are a highly motivated person who enjoys quantitative modeling and has a relevant education.

  • You are a software engineer and have 5-10 years of professional experience in developing Matlab code.

  • Experience in the valuation of Swiss pension plans according to Swiss GAAP / FER26 and international accounting standards IFRS and US GAAP and knowledge in investments and asset-liability models would be an advantage.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a given for you. Good German and English language skills are essential, French language skills are an advantage.

  • You enjoy working in a team and look forward to collaborating with colleagues and clients from Switzerland and abroad.

  • You have strong self-management skills and good organizational skills as well as the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
