WTW Risk & Analytical Analyst in Johannesburg, South Africa

The Role

The main purpose of this role is to analyze insurance claims data sets, performing projections and proposing the servicing teams with the most optimal and cost-effective insurance and self-insurance solutions.

In addition, assisting the Captive team with all relevant SAM regulatory analysis and requirements

Your Tasks will include

  • Assist and gather insurance renewal information – including insurance questionnaires and consolidations

  • Analyze various insurance claims data sets.

  • Performing required claims projections, by using @risk excel software:

  • Populating and running WTW Global risk and analytical tools - although relative training will be provided on these internal WTW models.

  • Provide support to the servicing teams and recommend appropriate insurance limits, structures, and appropriate solutions.

  • Assist the Captive team with all relevant SAM regulatory analysis and requirements, including populating quarterly returns (QRT), performing Own Risk assessment analysis (ORSA) and any other SAM regulatory requirements such as technical provision calculations, reserving etc. In addition, assisting the external Actuarial team in populating the Annual returns (AQRT).

  • Assist with client premium allocations

  • Assist the rest of the GRMS team with excel solutions;

  • Monthly Reporting and analysis for existing clients.

You will work with internal colleagues (Finance, Operations, and IT colleagues) and external stakeholders (e.g. Brokers and Actuaries) in order to find the best solutions for our clients.

The Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Actuarial Studies, Statistics or Mathematics or similar field

  • Work experience in a similar role can be a plus

  • Excellent computer skills: expert or advanced level essential in Excel with ease of adaptation to new technical applications.

  • Excel VBA background will be an advantage

  • @ Risk excel software background will be an advantage

  • Familiar with SAM technical calculations – QRT, ORSA & AQRT will be an advantage.

  • Working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word

  • Strong financial skills, business acumen

  • Strong interpersonal and team skills with polished and well developed oral and written communication skills

  • Self-starter attitude and ability to work with ambiguity

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues

  • Strong analytical and creative skills
